When even you lower a mustangs lower than an inch you have the plates it sucks nuts but the stock plates just don't have any adjustment I am in the same point lowering my car but don't want to $200 for a set.

Re: lowering suspension kit

someone was telling me that you can grind out the stock plates a little bit for the adjustments. i was also told you might not need the plates unless you drop it more than 2 inches

I guess you could but grinding on plates just doesn't sound safe. But your car. I got a buddy with a 95 5.0 and he lower the front an inch 1/2 and his **** is off by like -5 degrees but its whatever good luck on that

Re: lowering suspension kit

A 1.5 is not gonna effect it that bad but a 1.75 will. Look into some camber bolts, you can find them for around $30 give or take.

Re: lowering suspension kit

I just installed the Caster Camber plates this weekend on my terminator while H&R SS lowering spring install. SO EASY! Just do it, its worth the $180. Makes everything down the road easier to adjust. They look cool to!

Re: lowering suspension kit

there are "ways" to adjust the camber with out adjustable caster/camber plates... but generally the best and safest way is a nice set of good quality caster/camber plates. The only ones I would recommend are maximum motorsports for many reasons.

The stock ones have NO adjustment on most all 94+ mustangs

Re: lowering suspension kit

the 94+ ones ive seen the bolts on the stock bolt holes that hold on caster/camber plates have no adjustment they are just round so you cant slide them anywhere. You can look up underneath the car into the strut tower and see if you have adjustment perhaps~ that hole can technically be made into an oval for adjustment if you wanted~

Re: lowering suspension kit

my 01 didnt have them but my 03 cobra has a slot~ its odd. You can also get the wobble bolts for the bottom where the strut goes to the spindle/knuckle~

If you ever plan coil overs mm cc plates are the only way to go

Re: lowering suspension kit

im too cheap for that. springs and a front end alighnment will probably do it for me. i just want it stable for high speed straight from time to time. im not a true corner carver or slalom course driver. ill probably only g0 1.5-1.7 in the front anyway, unless i score another awsome deal on some vogtlands. im tryn to find some inexpensive specific rate springs. all the manufactures primarily sell progressive. my car is super loud, so i dont mind if it rides like a brick ..lol

that sounds like all kinds of fantastic. let me know wut i can do. there's alota stangers here, but not alota stang unity. two much competion amongst each other in da ford camp. it keeps ppl devided and not exchanging numbers except for small cliques. i can try to hook up with columbus racing clique. it's a big organization (group of street racers). i quit hangs wit them as much cause i value my drivers license. underground street racing is super huge here in columbus. im not sure y, as in 80-110 cars show up on a good night

OMG, that sounds awesome! But your right! I value my DL way too much. reminds me back when I was younger and had my crouch Rocket. WE usually had 30-50 cars show up. Cops always bustin it up though.

My good friend has a Torch red 04 Terminator (stage 1 mods), and 2 other friends have 98 cobras with Turbos. its pretty fun! We love to drive place to place and chat and meet new people! Then I have a friend that works at ZZP ZZPerformance so there are always these Grand Prixs that want to race and I pass cause really no reason to beat up on a V6 lol.

you can get 4-600hp outa a 3.8 but u gotta throw soooo much boost at it your head will spin. if u dont snap a piston in half first. i saw a 500hp 3.8 but they were thrown like 19-22lbs at it, with an intercooler. im like you, just drop a v8 in it.

Re: lowering suspension kit

there used to be someone that would post on here with a 700rwhp 4.2L stroked 3.8L v6 motor with like 25psi.... but 25psi on an 03 cobra = about the same rwhp... but he was turboed.

Oh I know personally about the 3.8 engine. Just look at my SSEI garage on my profile page! 300fwhp. Car is heavy but it keeps up with most stock V8 Camaros and Mustangs that are 2000 or older! Even beats some!

Re: lowering suspension kit

I wouldn't go smaller pulley! Seems lots of thing go wrong when people do that on any car. Right now I have about 16PSI running on my SSEI and 20PSI on the Cobra. I love boost, but there is such and thing as too much for what you have! Your PowerDyne is a bit different.
