interior paints

i just bought a new center console for my 1996 gt. the console is black but my interior is saddle tan. i will be painting it in the next few weeks. what kind of paint should i use: vinyl or lacquer?

There are paint for just plastic, ask the walmart paint department manager or any auto parts place for paint that works on plastic. I think it would look good if you taped off the bottom half of your dash and painted it to match the console.JMO

a guy i work with just told me today that i need to use vinyl paint. he said that lacquer will be really glossy.

but im going to paint the center console tan. its a rare color combination for that year so i wanna keep like that. im actually goin to paint my gauge cluster trim tan, with black gauges. that would be different

you can buy interior trim paint for such a part from places like 50resto.com and latemodelrestoration.com they have good stuff that works and matches great.

yea i think thats what im goin to do since they have factory paint colors

all black colors in 94-98 are "midnight black" from ford.
