2002 roush question

Hi everyone! I'm new here and have a question. I just purchased a 2002 GT roush stage 3. It's not an original roush car, so no serial number. I have done some research but I need some help in figuring out if my new car is up to specs with roush standards. Also can someone tell me if this was a factory built car, would it be considered a Roush 360R? Thanks for the help. I'll post some pics in the next couple days.

Re: 2002 roush question

Roush built some vehicles at their headquarters (or where ever they built them etc) and some were authorized by dealers. Both are considered valid real Roush vehicles. You should take your FIN number down and call Roush and check to see if its in their registry, they can give you all the details on the car and what it originally was and such.

If its a stage 3 it should be supercharged and have side exhaust (I do believe on some stage 3's side exhaust is an option but VERY few skipped it)

Do you have some images?

Re: 2002 roush question

looks like a stage 3 to me, is it supercharged? once you get in touch with roush ask them all options that were added or if anything was deleted from the list etc so you know what all it should have.

I wonder if those are the factory wheels... not sure but I dont think so the OEM ones are usually 5 spoke in silver or chrome.\

like this

Called Roush, car not in their system. So it's technically a clone someone built. From what the previous owner told me, he bought it from the original owner who worked for roush and he did all the upgrades. Still a wicked car!! So I'm happy!

Re: 2002 roush question

if its not real, its really depending on the types of modifications and amount of hp to compare it to a real roush to know what it is closest to

Yeah, I'm going to take it to a certified roush tech in the next few weeks and have them check it out.

Re: 2002 roush question

for example, the 04 roush 440a. 440 stands for 400hp + 40th anniversary. each of the types of numbers for the roush represent something

Go to roush's website and use their Roush vehicle vin verifier. It will confirm if it is a real Roush plus give you the location of where certain identifiers are located to also confirm that it's a real Roush. I just bought a 2003 Roush stage 2 with 7,800 miles. Before buying verified the vin on roush's website, confirmed the passenger door sticker, engine bay sticker and it still had the Roush window sticker and ford window sticker in the trunk.

That's correct...insurance see it as a gt since it's vin is such and they don't recognize conversion companies...for 2003 state farm only recognizes...base, gt, bullitt and svt. Only problem is getting a loan if you don't have money to put down since the bank also only see it as a gt.

Yeah when I got mine earlier this month the dealer said it's hard to sell new Roush mustangs because some of them are so much more than the gt's that they need such a big down payment that people don't have.
