Does your tuner read trouble codes as well?

No it doesnt. But ive had numerous ppl look at it with computers. Most codes say vacuum leak fuel to rich or to lean MAF is bad.

Re: Car idle bad

I'd try cleaning the mass air first, nearly all auto parts places can get a can of spray that will clean it. Also invest in a set of security torx bits so you can take the MAF apart.

Re: Car idle bad

Those things are pretty sensitive, was it acting that way before you took it apart?

Yea it was already doing that before i took it apart. When im at a dead stop and hit the gas it hesitates then i gas it more then it goes.

Re: Car idle bad

Ouch, sounds like its time for a new one. You might be able to get one at a salvage yard way cheaper than new, but I know they aren't cheap anyway, so check their price and then check on a new one. The price difference should negate whether or not to go new or used. IMO I would go for a new one, but that's just me.

Re: Car idle bad

I would say probably so. Those things control a lot of readings for the computer. Controls the amount of fuel the computer tells the injectors to squirt, things like that. So if it's reading lean, and rich in the trouble codes, and that the MAF is bad, I would say with certainty that this is your problem.

Check your PVC valve too. I had a friend who almost swapped his piston rings cuz he thought they were bad, it turned out that the pcv valve was just bad.
