I live on Burbank Dr. right off LSU campus in Baton Rouge, LA. Right by all the smog pollution and road construction that causes 3-hr long standstills on the roads. :p

I'll let you in on a little secret with the dealers. They really don't care if you pay cash or not. If you finance something, the bank sends them money anyway, so your cash is just the same as financing. I was in the car business for 3 yeas. I know their dirty little secrets!

I'm from gramercy. Center of BR an NO. The guy that owns the matherns supermarkets lives by me and is always selling them. He flips mustangs as a hobby. He usually has some nice stuff. I'll pass by soon and see what he has got. Last I checked he had a couple nice 00-04's.

Also check out the guys at L&S automotive. There's one in port Allen and one on tiger bend I think. They are all mustang guys. I wouldn't trust them to do much on my car but they know a lot of the local mustang community. See if they know if anyone is selling.

Very true, BUT I would advise at least letting them know you have a decent down payment, it'll show that you're serious about buying and they'll put a little more effort into it. Could be wrong just what I've noticed before. When I bought my stang I had 4k to put down on it, ended up only having to put 2k down on it and then put the other 2k down on the financing which brought my monthly payments down even more. Just my 2 cents FME.

Down payment is good, and looks really good to the banks as well. It increases your chance of being able to get financed, and it also takes off of the amount you finance which in turn lowers your payment!
Now, to a person, Cash is king!!

Actually now that you mention it I do see many more 01-04 parts. I wonder if it's due to to the extra year of production.99-00 have a water pump and head difference from the 01-04. I found some udps and the water pump pulley is more narrow. That being said if anyone one wants one I will sell it cheap. It's for the 01-04 or trade me for the right one

The car is built which means if you r satisfied with it's performance, then no more mods to buy. Worst case is the engine or transmission would have a problem. Engine or trans will still be cheaper than all of those mods. The nitrous thing is a little scary, I wouldn't spray any car unless you fully understand the system. If it's what you are looking for it sounds like a fun car.

You do not want that car as a daily driver, fuel will be more than ****ty in it and it has alot of abusive miles... I wouldn't f with it unless you really want a potential project car...

Def not daily driver. Prob won't be worth a sh#% turning either. Can't drive in weather or much hwy with the wheel and tire set up. But should be a fun toy if that's what you're looking for.

A stage 4 clutch is very difficult to drive on the street. It's more like an on/off switch

Sorry Brent. Love your car but only have about $8000 max to spend. :/

And the nitrous was ran once and t scared him so he cut it off to the motor and set it up as a purge. The car comes with a set of 4.10 gears and recalibration kit since he was gonna change then. Only reason he's selling is because he needs a truck to haul his and his son's atvs around.

As for the clutch, my friend has an '01 GT with a spec stage one and he wants to go back to stock wth it, so he selling it to me half price. It was never installed on his car. So changing to the stage one would be easy since my mechanic friends owe me favors. Lol.

And the car only makes around 280rwhp/315ft lbs torque. So it's not that bad, right?

All that bein said.. Is it a decent deal now?

Ya but those 136 k is what's scary, go drive her around and see what if anything breaks, just don't buy her expecting to keep her for life you know, and it sounds like you already made up your mind since you're justifying the car, if you like it then do it! Let's see some pics?!

You're in BR right? There's a lot of built cars being sold around there. Go see the guys at L&S and go visit Stanghi. Between those two places, they know most of the hot rod mustang guys around there. There gonna know who's selling.

Stanghi is a mustang performance shop off of siegen. L&S is run by a bunch of gear heads. Mustang guys mostly. There's always cars for sale at state Capitol dragway on the weekends. Talk to a couple of guys racing mustangs there. They know everybody local too. Mustang people stick together.
