Tranny went out

Well guys my 97 GT tranny went out today, after getting stuck in my driveway. I called around 750$ and 77k on a used one. Is that good? With a 90day warranty. Any of you have a 5 speed trans willing to part with? Let me know!

Maybe he can come get it if the price is right lol. I know I would. Shipping on that thing would probably be pretty hefty.

Re: Tanny went out

idk...i told straublil 500 bucks. itsa good deal for everything, it came out my 97 v6 that was female owned..so u know it's not beat..(layla didnt own it..lmao!!). maybe he will, if not, ima hook it up to my 5.0 and drive on it over the summer. i wont powershift it, butit may be fun to have a supercharged 5.0 5spd. ive always kept the racing aod hooked up cause it's a 700hp rated bullit proof beast, and all my friends were cry'n bout their t-5's

Right, the only reason I still have a T5 is because my car is stock.

Re: Tranny went out

new my friend got a 5 speed trans for his 96 GT for 1200 bucks so I would say a 77k mile used one for 750 is far to much, should be no more than 450-500

Well I'm sure it's marked up a little bit but that was the lowest mileage, and even came with a one year warranty.

A lot of junk yards and tranny shops think they're sitting on gold or something ,thats a crazy price ............. i wouldn't pay over $400 for a used unit
or spend the bucks on a rebuild kit and get yours fixed , d&d motorsports has great kits with all HD parts to rebuild and make your tranny stronger then stock ...

Yeah most builders are charging close to 1800 just for a rebuild. I endding up buying a used one 78k out of a 98 gt for 600 bucks. Everything is super marked up o guess. Hopefully when I move to Phoenix in 8 days everything will be a lot better. Once I learn how to rebuild trannys too I'm doing it asap on that one I'm dropping in it. You guys think it will be okay?

Okay man, I think I'll have them crack it open and check everything out. I'm guessing it will be okay. Worst thing that can happen is it goes out again. In Phoenix I'm sure it will be be a little bit different. Lol until then gotta take her nice and easy.
