No Heat

Buying my first Mustang friday, '96 3.8 5 spd.
Air blows and switches between defog, floor, ect but no hot air. Owner installed a temp gage, replaced the sensor to accomodate it. Now there is a 2 pin connector where the old sensor was. Could this be the problem?

Re: No Heat

Try not to double post, sometimes it takes a bit to get a reply. Sounds to me either your heater box control isn't working right, or your heater core may be out. Is your windshield fogging up? Also check your coolant level.

Re: No Heat

Sorry, Post did not show up for a while so I re-posted.
Coolant level is good, waiting till engine warms up.
Can I manually open the heater control valve?

Re: No Heat

You may have to wait for another reply as I'm not really sure what kind of setup the heater box is in those cars, someone who knows will help you out, I'm sure of it. There are experts here of all kinds.

Re: No Heat

you can manually open the control valve.also with engine running and heater on, check and see if it has vacuum to it. just pull the vacuum hose off of the valve.see if that gets you closer. should have vacuum either full hot pos. or full cold. not positive.
