What gears?

Hey guys,
I've made the decision to go ahead upgrade my gear's. My car only has stock ones now and from what I hear with different ones it will feel much much faster? Correct me on that if I'm wrong. I was thinking 3.73 ghats the number right? Or 4.10's. Anyone provide and insight as to which ones to get? Oh and is there a huge diffance with gas mileage?

Re: What gears?

Do you have an auto or a manual? The right gears will really wake the car up, you won't be disappointed!

Re: What gears?

I hate it too. My gf has an 02 GT auto, and I'm always mashing the brake before I start it lol.
Anyway, since it's a manual, I would suggest going with the 3.73's. I think they are the best all around gear. Some people will also suggest 4.10's but if its your daily driver, go for the 3.73's. Like I said, you won't regret gears! Besides nitrous, best bang for the buck performance wise! Add a poll if you want so you can measure your feedback!

Hah yeah, I turned down a 97 z28 camaro with 77k on it because it wasn't stick. Plus I'm not a huge fan. I wanted a stick Stang so that's what I got lol. Okay sounds like that's what I shall be going with. How much does it norm cost to get done at a shop? I know rear ends are tricky to work with and I def don't wanna mess anything up in there.

Re: What gears?

Now you can better track what peoples suggestions are, and then decide based on that.

I have driven both 3.73s and 4.10s. 3.73s wasn't enough for the money spent and 4.10s although pulled fantastic you buzz the engine at highway speed. I went with 3.90s. They pull almost as good as 4.10s but at 70 mph only rev at 2200.... Google Paladinmicro Then on the lefthand side there is an mph/rpm. Click that. Then there is an entire page, you just pick your transmission and what gear you want and voilĂ . Mph in all rpms in all 5 gears. Check it out. And I really haven't noticed any increase in fuel but I sure have more smiles pet gallon
