+1 Tony!!! and not to mention are u talking about getting a 01 cobra or a 03/04 cobra Bc the mach is better than a 01 cobra my friend had a 99 cobra and I beat him every time when I was stock and he had full exhaust tb intake. Mach 1 power is under rated. But either way u can't go wrong h got 4v either way

Re: buying a 2001 mach 1 or cobra

for an 03/04 cobra (aka Terminator) read this! Terminator FAQs

They are great cars, but you need to make SURE YOU RESEARCH. The market on them is soft (as with most performance cars) so at this time you can get a GREAT car for the money. I would try to find one with around 30-40k miles for around 18-20k.

They come stock with about 425hp/425tq (at engine)~, will handle about 600rwhp before you really start to see any issues, they are EASY to modify (I have 4 modifications (intake, exhaust, sueprcharger pulley swap, tune) and I have 472rwhp/494rwtq vs 360rwhp/360rwtq stock)

If you have any questions about them let us know after you read the FAQ.

No they do not have the terminator motor. They have the same as the 01 WAP block but with different cam profiles and slightly updated heads. The Mach 1s also have 3.55s compared to 3.27 ( or 3.23?). The Machs also have a solid rear end. They tend to be slightly quicker than the 99/01 Cobra

What's your price range? That makes a difference. You can find good terminators 03-04 cobras with higher mileage. Still good cars. Have to remember. These are better built engines in these cars so of course longer lasting.

I would save your pennies and get something in a year for about $16-18K. You will be much happier and something with lower miles.

Re: buying a 2001 mach 1 or cobra

if you future wife does not understand your hobbies or future hobbies and you are in a position to purchase the car without obvious strain financially then... you should reconsider your marriage lol. She should support your hobby and understand what you enjoy... being with someone that constantly gets mad at you for doing something you love cant lead to anything good. That is of course while you are at a point to where you should be doing what ever it is that you love~

1999 Oxford White Cobra Vert....$11,500 OBO - SVTPerformance

Here is a nice car. You can probably get a good deal on it. The price has came down significantly since the original posting(no longer $11,500). It's def a clean car. I've been following it, but I'm not going back to a NA car.

Just make sure you get receipts, and contact info on the shop that perform the swap. See if there were any reviews in reference to the shops work. If the owner did it himself I would stay away. LOL
