New noise~ Yay!

I only really notice this sound when I listen for it, as it tends to be very faint and I can only really hear it when sitting still.

When I depress the clutch I start to hear a weird noise.. I don't even know how to explain it. But it's very faint. And sometimes it doesn't happen and I rarely hear it after the car is warm and has been running for a while. When I'm off the clutch it makes no sound, and when I'm in gear it also makes no sound.

Anyone got any ideas?

I'm sorry for all the questions and not being of much help around the forum. :/ I really do appreciate all the words and am not taking advantage.. Promise!

Re: New noise~ Yay!

My TOB on the Vert makes a tiny bit of a chattering noise if i push it in a little, so It could possibly be that. No noise though when the clutch is all the way out though.

Ah.. I was afraid of that. So if the TOB is going out, that means the rest will soon follow, eh?

I've heard them chatter for a while before going out. As a matter of fact, it will probably last as long as your clutch, but it will just be noisy. I can't justify dropping my whole tranny over a little noise. Just when the clutch finally goes. Then I get the whole kit and start from scratch.

Re: New noise~ Yay!

My mechanic agrees with you. My TOB has been chattering for about 3 years now. Car's got almost 100k miles on it. He told me 3 yrs ago to wait it out until the clutch goes, then replace everything..

Good deal. My car is almost at 103k. So it'll be time soon, I'm sure. Original clutch.
