At a Crossroads.

I currently own a 97 Mustang GT. It has 105k miles and an automatic transmission. The only mods for performance are a cold air intake, Pypes exhaust that I actually won from americanmuscle.com (X-pipe and violator catback), and 2003 cobra deep dish wheels with 315s out back. This car is my daily driver, so it's comfortable and easy to drive everyday, and my best run at the track is 14.8 @ 93. All in all, not bad for driving, and it's a very beautiful car.

That being said, I'm losing interest in this car, along with the fact that's it's starting to break and I don't want to keep racing it an beating it, putting more mods on it, and only getting little gains an ultimately more repairs and money lost. Plus, like most of us, I want to go faster. I've been thinking about selling it and getting a 4V Mustang, preferably a Mach 1, or a Mystic Cobra (if I can find one at a good price). I'm also open to other options too, such as an 01-04 GT/Bullitt. The point is that I wish to get a 5-speed Mustang that's just as beautiful and pristine on the outside as it is inside, and also being able to run consistent 13s easy, hopefully shooting for the high 12s. The only issue is really money.

The only other option I've considered is a project foxbody, finding one for cheap, and then using my 97 GT as nothing but a daily driver. All thoughts and opinions would be greatly appreciated, and I just wanted to share my Mustang dilemma. Thank you.

I would keep her as your DD and then get the fox project to keep your mod interest going.I think I'll be doing the same thing.

I've been leaning towards that a bit in the past few days. A cheap fox would be great to have, and fun to make fast.

Re: At a Crossroads.

no matter what unless its new and has a warranty they will have issues you have to pay for and even warranty wont cover it all sadly. You have to decide if its worth the money and time or if you should get something newer
