Would you rather?

Which would you rather do. Get an '04 Mach 1 with all of the money you saved for a new car, or get an '04 GT and have a couple grand to put into it?

Re: Would you rather?

Hmmm...thats a tough one
I think it would depend on which you find at the time and how much it costs
but IMO its always better to have money on the side just in case

Ok, I thought it was one of the two. Knew it wasn't the 2 Valve. I'd go with the 4 Valve then.

Mach 1 man. That 4 valve and Mach 1 package is a better car and engine. Will also hold it's value longer. Just might have to hold out a little longer for mods is all. It won't be your last $2k.

Re: Would you rather?

not too much upgrading can be done to a mach 1

id supercharger the GT. and if you arent planning on forced induction then get the mach

Re: Would you rather?

having now owned a 04 GT for 3 years now, i will say that i really would of ended up buying a mach1. hell ive been upgrading to stuff that the mach already had to begin with, and i still dont have the motor. granted i dont drag race, i could still use the stronger powerband on the road course for sure. but o well ill be seeing boost hopefully soon anyway.

I have a 02 & 01 GT I would love to have a Mach 1 now. Drive them both and decide. Mach 1 is fun save your money over the winter and add stuff then.

I love my mach 1 I am doing 13.2's on street tires and no tune yet get some drag radials and 4.10's and basic bolt ons and Ur doing mid 12's and can drive it everyday and not have to worry about all the pressure the boost is putting on ur car and mods aren't to expensive the exhaust set up is the same as a new edge Gt Jlt ram is only 170 bucks and u can find tons of parts online i think the Mach is the way to go not just Bc I own one but simple bolts on a 4v vs 2v bolts the 4v is going to respond more than a 2v

Re: Would you rather?

I'd get either depending on the price and condition of them. Drive both and see what you think of them. The Mach1 has the better engine but some might not like the overall car compared to a GT or vise versa. Mach1's do hold their value more of course due to the 4V.

It's actually funny I was in the same kind of position I was looking for a mustang. I was looking at a lot of gt's and then I went and looked at the mach 1 I drove the Gt the guy let me take it out on my own without him felt nice and powerful, and then I got in the mach 1 and I also drove that alone. And wow the power was awesome. There is a significant difference in power not to mention seeing the shaker shake=) and the price of the Gt I looked at was 8,000 and the mach he wanted 13,000 I talked him down 3 grand it needed tires but that was it. My suggestion is go and test drive the two and see what u like
