Those are perfect first mods. AmericanMuscle has combo kits you can buy if you're looking for a handheld.

Skip the gears for now, get it breathing better with headers, off road or high flow catted x pipe or h pipe, cold air intake, under drive pulleys and a throttle body. That should run you about 2000 minus the labor.

He can get all this plus you should be able to get gears and a tuner for about 2 grand.

Re: Mods

I used to have an 04 and with a JLT CAI, a BBK off-road h-pipe and MAC cat back with a tune it put down 278rwhp. That's roughly 325hp at the motor... not a bad pick up for about a grand. However, you've got 2... if you can do all the instillation, you can get a lot for your money.

I disagree about the gears. Headers are not worth the labor cost imho

I would go with tuner, throttle body, pulleys, cold air intake an 4.10 gears, that's probably best for your buck, still may have a few dollars left. Or just buy a super charger, that would be bad ***

I bought 3.90 motives and city mileage went up. Highway is about the same but way more spunk. I hear horror stories about mileage all the time. Mine got better. And hella fast

You don't buy a Mustang to get good gas mileage. If you are worried about that, get a Prius. Get a set of 4.10s unless you plan on a power adder down the road. You will definitely notice a difference.

Wait, how the hell does the CAI not do **** to the new edge?

Personally, I would got both with breathing better and suspension. It don't matter how much power your car has if suspension is ****.

intakes on pre 05 just dont add much power, on a GT maybe 10rwhp with no tune, on the V6 about half that

Yea I have to agree if you have stock suspension on that car and plan on drag racing it with all bolt ons and mods you're not going to hook as good. Get sub frames ( I raced my car without them with Mickey thompsons....cracked my dash about inch and a half the fram twisted so much ) don't go with too low of springs don't want it to bottom out too much in the rear the car will just bog down. Shocks 90/10 in front 50/50 rear ( Lakewood ) and rear control arms!!! a must have. The k-member can be done for weight reduction but that's up to you. Also good set of drag tires too.

The first thing in mods to car should always be a TUNER!!! You can't do much without it on these cars. Have Fun!

I got a tuner, CAI, gears, and exhaust for 1400, minus the labor for the gears.
