headight and dashlight problem help please!

okay so the other night i went to turn on my headlights and my dash lights would not come on. I know its not a blown fuse because i push the rod in just a enough for the headlights to go off my dash lights come on! I have tried turning the knob every which way to no success. If you have any advice id appreciate it thanx

Get you a new switch from 50resto.com. They are easy to remove there is a slot down the middle just insert a flat head screwdriver in there to depress a tab and pull it out.
