Coyote swap

Could one do a new 5.0 coyote engine swap on an '04 GT? If it's possible is it worth it?

Re: Coyote swap

Anything is possible. Worth it? Up to whoever is doing it. Hell, I'd just supercharge mine instead of going through all the trouble.

If you where going to do a 5L swap you would need a donor car for sure or you would be wasting your time

Re: Coyote swap

like stated you do not need a 2011 donor car to do the swap..for sells the motor with harness for like $6000 so thats not a bad deal....would cost the same to do a built motor in a 2v with heads, cams, full exhaust,etc..when you can drop in a stock motor from the factory for the same price and have over 400rwhp n/a and still get good gas mileage and be bad ***...

their are acutally a few people that have done the swap now...look on modularfords.com and corral.net

But they don't come with the computers or modules and getting all the air bags and sub systems to work would be a nightmare without a donor car

Re: Coyote swap

its been done, not easy, will cost more than you can think, and the end result is 400hp~ you can get that on a built 4.6L with a supercharger for cheaper and have more power probably~ just a matter of how you want to go.
