fun but loud

So I put on my bbl o/r x pipe on my car this weekend and it is great. However it was way too loud and nearly unbearable on the interstate. Some poeple say it is because if the flowmaster 40s I have for mufflers. Is there another muffler I can switch to quiet it at speed and sound less tinny?

2k rpm drone. It sucks. Dynomax has an new ultraflow that is allegedly drone free. It has an internal valve in it. I'm not sold on the design though. it may take a few different muffler swaps to kill the drone.

If it's too loud take that x pipe off it will still sound good. Mufflers won't change nothing to much if u leave that x pipe on.

False. Depending on what muffler you choose will determine how loud the car will be. I have o/r x-pipe with magnaflow magnapacks. It is really loud. I could choose a different catback setup to make it quieter. I put the x-pipe on before the catback and it didn't change the sound until the magnapacks went on

I love that sound, one of the best sounds a muscle car can have

Re: fun but loud

Mine don't have drone
OH BTW you should just get some high flow cats put on to take the noise down some.

Re: fun but loud

Go back to a stock style muffler... or like suggested above a high flow cat will quiet ya up a bit. I am running straight pipes no cats no mufflers... but she is rarely out... and i get nothing but "thats the way she should sound" comments from all the old guys in town haha
