Re: Tob huge issue help

It sounds to me like you have too much pre-load or you keep finding the garbage TOB's in each batch...which if thats the case, it's time to play the lotto.

What brand TOB are you replacing the bad ones with?

Do you have an adjustable cable/firewall adjuster/etc? Or is this just a stock cable stock plastic quadrant in the car?

i went through 4 in like a year.. clutch adjustment seemed to really help the life though on the last go around. What is your cable/quadrant setup?

Order yourself and adjustable set up. There are kits that include firewall adjuster, quadrant, and cable from steeda for $100. Should take care of things.

Re: Tob huge issue help

You'll have to either adjust the cable placement or put a pre-load on the tob. Either would work.

Re: Tob huge issue help

I'm just going to try and replace the whole setup the car had a centerforce clutch on it when i got it might have bent something also it has a none pi engine that wouldn't cause any issue that i know of though because that i know of the block is almost identical of coarse i had to get a new flexplate because this engine was a six bolt the pi engines have a 8 but the clutch kits are the same for the two

Re: Tob huge issue help

I would agree with above put a good cable and adjuster on it and hopefully that will help out.

Good luck and keep us posted on what may take care of this issue in the end.

the retainer sleeve may have grooves in it, replace with steel instead of an alum one

How do the mustangs there perform with all the enviornment controls on them? Where i live we dont even have emission laws cherrybombs will pass inspection and you only get an inspection when you first buy the car no yearly inspections

Re: Tob huge issue help

It all depends on how much money you want to spend mine has a supercharger on it and it performs pretty well 0to 60 in about 5 seconds .
