Brakes

So Im going to need to replace my brakes soon and was wondering if anyone had some suggestions on which kind to get. I was looking at these, Hawk Performance Ceramic Brake Pads (1999-2004 Mustang GT/V6 Front Pair) at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!

Re: Brakes

check brake dust issues and see what pads are good... some are horrible on brake dust.

Re: Brakes

due to all the weight being on the front, the fronts have to work far harder than the rears.

Well, it's not even the weight that's the main problem. When you stop, all the weight shifts towards the front, making the front exert ~75%+ of braking force, whereas the rear tires are being pushed to the ground lighter resulting in very little braking force. So, its unnecessary to have large rear brakes because they would be useless.

My .02, go with OEM stuff, unless youre looking for something high performance, etc...

Just took my wheels off for the first time since I bought it from my in-laws. 60k miles, original rotors/pads, front and rear. They have 50% or more left all around. Wearing perfectly even. No pulsations either.

Factory stuff really is better, depending on what your application is. Ive been a mechanic for about 13-14 years now, and I've learned quite a bit. Take it for what its worth.
