Mach 1 grille delete part??

Does anyone know where you can buy just the black piece that covers the holes from the Mach 1 grille delete kit? I already have the chrome pony. I got it when I installed my aftermarket bumper but I'm thinking of going back to the stock bumper

Not sure. I would try amazon or craigslist? I don't think AM or anyone sells just that third piece.

Try prestige mustangs salvage yard? They have a website.

Yah Latemodel Restoration (site sponsor) has it as well as StangMods.

and +1 on the stock bumper idea...not knocking your car in any way but that bumper is not my cup of tea.

Why would I be offended? I just kept the stock bumper in my garage to preserve it... No bug damage or road rash and it's over 100k in mileage Lol I just got the aftermarket one to play with and learn to paint on

Re: Mach 1 grille delete part??

the full kit is 3 pieces, the running pony, the part that goes on the bumper to cover the holes, and the radiator cover piece that snaps on the headlight alignment panel behind the horse. Its different on the mach/cobra than the GT/V6 as well FYI.

Re: Mach 1 grille delete part??

yea painting is just one of those things you have to get in there and do it and find out what works and what does not. Prep and prep and more prep is the key of course lol. I would like to learn to paint as well but its just such a hassle and takes SO LONG to get parts prepped correctly its exhausting lol.

It is the 40th anniversary but I think you're confusing redfire with fireball .... Ford and their fire lol

I've never heard of fireball, but Ford did offer Crimson Red on the Special 40th's, apart form Refire. All v6/GT/Mach 1's were 40th Anniversaries, but a limited run (5700) of v6's/GT's were 40th Anniversary Editions...special mats, cobra mirrors, wheels, beige stripes, etc., mainly cosmetic.

Crimson Red was only offered on those 40th editions, but now that I look at the 2 colors crimson is quite a bit darker than redfire.

The aftermarket one kept getting massive chunks of paint falling off of it long story short the first place I took it too didn't sand it and reprimed it proved to me they were idiots and I took it to another painter but the primer from the first place kept flaking off so I have to repaint it cause it was starting to look like crap

Well it may go on again in the future but I will have sanded it down altered it a bit and repainted it by then I never liked the indentions on the side so those are gunna get flattened out and I'm gunna incorporate the lines that are in the stock bumper

IMHO it will make it look alot cleaner and more like it belongs there
