Re: Motor Swap... well kinda

Not trying to bash your decision since you already have the engine and damn near in but why did you opt for the 01 motor? The 97 and 01 is pretty much the same...aluminum block etc...about the only difference is the intake and the gained ~15hp.

I suppose with you doing all the work it isn't too bad, but have you considered doing 03/04 heads?

not quite true. i now have a cast block. i have class b heads instead of c. and a better flowing intake. no cats, no smog pump, no egr, no secondary intake controller motor. should be 50 or so more horses when im done. plus this is a re manufactured engine a friend had that he sold to me for 1000. never used it. would have kept the 97 but it threw a rod

no prob. I'd love to be able to do something like this myself but I wont have the time. Constantly busy. Good thing about being deployed is IF I can find a shop to do things then they can take their time bc its not being driven lol

Oh well **** if you threw a rod then it's definitely worth it...especially for the price...and there's always the roots charger option with the 01

HUH?

01's had C heads
97 had b heads
Both 97 and 01 Cobras were cast blocks.........aluminum

Depending on who remanned it...........$1000 is a great price

lol my bad got the heads backwards. my friend had it rebuilt. he wanted the cast iron block because its stronger and can take more abuse.
