Advice on buying

I'm currently serving in Afghanistan and was looking for a project Mustang to purchase and work on when I return home in a few months. I found the perfect one at a dealership close to my hometown ('98 Mustang GT, 78,000 miles, $6,800). It's got a good clean interior (tan) and the paint (red) is in great condition. I do not want to pass up this opportunity or let someone else have a chance at purchasing this Mustang (I'm not too worried because of gas prices lol). I want to trade in my 2000 Ford F-150 Lariat for the Mustang. Obviously, being in Afghanistan will hinder my ability to trade in the F-150 and to purchase the Mustang. My biggest concern is what would have to happen if I did purchase the Mustang while in Afghanistan? Would I have to have a relative pick up the Mustang or would the dealer be able to hold it until I returned home? Could I work out some deal with the dealership to pay full price for the Mustang while in Afghanistan and upon returning to America trade in my truck and get refunded the price of the truck? If anyone has advice or experience in this field it would be greatly appreciated! I also look forward to posting progress of the Mustang in this forum!

Re: Advice on buying

if you purchased it I am sure the dealership could help get it to a storage unit or something until you get back.

The 98 GT will be hard to get big power out of though so keep that in mind, you can upgrade the motor with the PI heads etc and get it a bit over 300hp with bolt ons then.

Re: Advice on buying

Yea, they said they would hold it at the dealership until I get home. I'm not looking for huge power gains, just something I can tinker with in the garage and then take out on the street and have fun with.

Re: Advice on buying

Thanks, man. Yea, they only have 225hp stock but it's a five speed so should be pretty fun to drive!
