Just got on the Dyno

Stock except for
BBK CAI
Flowmasters
says 225 hp stock
and 285 TQ stock

I just got dynod and I came out with 169.06 hp and 229.xx tq

what could be wrong with my car to get those results?

i think theres a hole in one muffler but but that wouldnt cause all that

Re: Just got on the Dyno

when they sat 215 hp stock thats just in the engine you lose some of those numbers from general stuff of transmitting that power to the wheels, still wld think the numbers would be a lil higher tho

Re: Just got on the Dyno

Yes I understand that lol
max power 169.06
max torque 229.83
(just looked at the actual print out)

I was just thinking though theres not a 56 hp difference to the rears

Re: Just got on the Dyno

Ive seen a good amount of stock mustangs losing 40-50 hp to the wheels figured tho with ur mods tho that the drop wouldnt be that much, idk im assuming ur not throwin any codes, so u prolly dont have a dead spark plug and ur probably not running lean, but thats also a possibility i guess, when's the last time u cleaned ur throttle body. CAI. and air filter, plus other R&R for the engine, because a lot of people lose HP, due to simple need of upkeep.

Plus I mean you have to remember its also a 13 yr old car but with good upkeep hp drop should hopefully be kept to a minimum.

Re: Just got on the Dyno

Great point, Ill take all that apart tomorrow and clean it up. Im gonna get some new plugs and wires too within the next month. I hope thats the only problem. I dont want to have something wrong with my engine its only got 90000 on it :/

Re: Just got on the Dyno

i mean ur not throwin any codes so I doubt there is anything majorly wrong, prolly just needs a lil love. Just hit that filter with a shop vac and get some throttle body cleaner, that should improve it a lil at least. Maybe get some high flow cats if you dont have some too, cuz ive generally head that stock cats are the most restrictive part of an exhaust.

But we dont have the same year mustang so hopefully somebody with ur model and engine will be able to shed a lil more light on the subject.

if its an auto expect 22-24% loss from engine to tires

215 hp take away 24% = 163rwhp
285 tq take away 24% = 216rwtq

so if its an auto thats about right

Re: Just got on the Dyno

My 2006 4.0 , put down 171 stock auto / its rated at 210
i would think your car should put down 185/190 range

1998 GT's were actually rated at 225hp and 290tq...just saying.

Re: Just got on the Dyno

also if it was hot when you dynoed that can make a pretty big difference too which could also account for some of those lost numbers
