You already have it installed if your sig list is correct/current.

The only thing that could improve your setup is if you switched to an H pipe from the X. When I Went to an H the sound became a little deeper and fuller. I also added mid length headers which influenced the sound a little as well. Even when I had my X pipe and stock manifolds it sounded damned good....just like yours does.

Yea I love the way my car sounds I was thinking of an h pipe to make it a little deeper. I would love to headers but I don't feel like dropping the k frame

I feel your pain there. INstall was no problem since I had the k down anyhow...then I blew out a gasket (bassani headers have 8 individual gaskets) and it was a total ***** swapping the bad one out.

Re: Whats is the beat sounding cat back/ exhaust for modular musting

Question is your o/r x and borla too loud?? Mine sounds great with the stock mid, but do you think I should go like you did? OR just put some high flow cats on it?

I will always be partial to Borla with some kind of cats. I hear Machs with longtubes sound amazing.

Re: Whats is the beat sounding cat back/ exhaust for modular musting

Coming from the non 4V guy in the thread so far, I don't think you can wrong with anything on those engines...they sound so good with any type of exhaust mod. Hell, even the stock mufflers with an off road h-pipe sounds decent, for stock anyways.

I say Borla, Bassani, Magnaflow...along with a decent midpipe.

Keep the Flowmasters on the 2v's

I have MAC long tubes and MAC mufflers and sounds killer!! Pretty cheap to and have had no issues with them. Off road x pipe also. Had slp loud mouth and was horrible. The borla stingers sound good also, kinda pricey.

exhaust is 100% subjective, some love certain things others hate it. I would listen on youtube and in person etc to figure out what works for you.

I loved my Borla on my F-body, but i went the cheap route on my Mustang. I LOVE my Flowmaster. I'm not a big fan of annoyingly loud or rhaspy exhausts, although I understand once you start making big power you need to let it breathe more...

Anyway, if you run stock manifolds/H-pipe, MOST exhausts will sound similar. The SLP loudmouth would be one of the loudest, since they are damn close to straight pipes. Really depends on what youre looking to get out of it.

Loud. Trust me...it's loud when you are on the gas. It's nice at idle and cruising, but high RPMS, specially under load is loud.

I Have about $500 in my catback, which is normal price for a decent catback, and cheap for a borla one. I got both mufflers for $150, paid $200 for the tailpipes, and $200 I think for a shop to install it all. So I think that I came out ahead. Lol

I personally like the Offroad H and Flowmaster combination for the 4.6L's.

I love borla and have found quite a few with bassani that sound good too. I will be getting my girl an 03 Mach that has the SLP Loudmouth II, so we will see how that sounds.

Slp will be unbelievably loud if there are no cats on it. Got a noise ticket when I ran mine like that. Had long tubes also.
