75mm TB

so after I spent forever with my mid pipe (someone rounded the last bolt, go figure, where it connects to the headers) and then my spark plug/head issue I took a break from under the hood...now I was about to do my TB today but someone told me it would run like crap and my check engine light would cut on...is this just hear say or what? Or is this something I should wait until I can get a custom tune and do it right before? Any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks

Re: 75mm TB

I had absolutely no problem with my TB install on my 01 GT.. I even did the upper plenum at the same time with no issues, definitely helped smooth out throttle response.. don't know if it helped power much

Re: 75mm TB

Thanks man. Just needed to make sure it wasn't something that was going to screw with my CEL.

It shouldn't, it's all behind your MAF, as long as there's no intake leaks when you install - the car will adapt, and pretty quickly

I believe it's a bigger issue on the 05+ GTs which even most intakes require a tune to avoid a CEL/lean condition
