Mustang "Low Fuel" warning light!

Just very, very curious about the low fuel light! I mean I don't get this at all unless I'm gonna put in an injector cleaner, so I can get a solid full tank. But I'm curious, how much longer can you go once that light comes on? That would be awesome to know, since I'm sure not a whole lot people knows.. Thanx guys

I've got nearly 15 miles on it before I chickened out and got gas. I never usually let it go below a quarter tank. Lol

Usually the lights are meant to give a 30mile "reserve".

Re: Mustang "Low Fuel" warning light!

its about 50 miles they say~ so about 2 gallons~ its bad for the pump to not have enough gas in the tank so I would fill up at 1/8th no less.

Also can cause the pump to generate more heat because of the lack of gas around it. Which could lead to a shorter pump life.

Re: Mustang "Low Fuel" warning light!

i've heard 2 gallons left once light comes on. but i def. wouldn't let it get that low if possible. 1/4 is usually my minimum.
