Well i found this guy on craigslist selling me a 5spd tranny with steeda tri ax shifter and everything i need to convert from auto to manual. Good deal or no? Let me kno what yall think. And tranny was rebuilt and has about 15k miles since rebuild.

How do we tell you if it's a good deal if we are unaware of the price?

I believe you also need a new computer depending on the length of the tranny you may need new driveshaft its not just a bolt on..

You should do some research. I was going to try and do it but there is a lot involved and its not worth going thouh al that hassle. I would recommend you keep it an auto. Haven't you ever went to the strip and see the auto kicking ***. I would build your car instead of making it a manuel

tunes is cheaper, but he still has to buy the tuner. I helped a couple buddies do auto to manual swaps on a couple hondas and the swaps always came with new computers. Not the same type of vehicle, just going of the experience I have.

Just get a new tune for your tuner. It will need a different idle strategy then an auto tranny.

Tranny swap is a mod, why drive a muscle car that's an automatic....anyone can push a gas pedal down the strip..

And not picking on auto drivers but investing into your tranny can make a crazy difference

Re: What do yall think?

I would, i have an auto and i wished i had a 5 spd just for playing around. but when ur racing i would have the auto with a shift kit, it shifts quicker and more consistently.

That's a big part of racing. Esp if you do any road course, finding your shift points and your braking points, the rest is just rolling in the throttle.
