Cams??

I was wondering if I could put a 3/4 inch lift on my motor. Has anyone done this, would it work out for my motor. My motor has been fully been rebuilt. Forge pistons, rods, and crank. It's at a 9-5 to 1 compression ratio...

Re: Cams??

So you want to put a .750 lift cam in your car? Is that what you're saying?

Re: Cams??

You need to do a LOT more research.......

.750 lift is ridiculous. Your car has no need for cams like that...and I'm fairly certain nobody makes a 2V cam with anywhere NEAR that much lift.

You know all of those outrageous LS1's you hear with the massive cams? They're usually less than .650 lift......and they're an OHV car, not an OHC.

"Aggressive" cams for your car would be somewhere in the upper .5xx range...

My advice would be to call up Comp and tell them what you have and what you want to do. They can tell you the right cam for the job

So would XE278AH cam be fine for let's say a factory motor. Mines not factory, but the duration being 278 it would work with a tune, gears and exhaust...or is more that needs to be done to the motor and so forth?

I have the stage 2 cams that comp makes. Have had them for several yrs now stock internals and 8psi blower and have had no issues. Think with the stage 3 cams you have to change the valve springs? Sounds good to.

If you want an answer from guys who spend all day specking cams, call the Comp Cams Techline.
