Auto to 5 speed swap

I have a auto tranny right now. And I was wondering how much of a pain it would be to swap it to a 5 speed? I've hears the hardest part to find is a clutch pedal. But has anybody done it? Do they make a kit that comes with everything you need for the swap?

I don't think they make a kit but I've swapped one out with a friend we found and bought peices some came with two peices like the pedal with the cable yada yada. It is a bit of a B&/- if you don't have the exact idea of what your doing. (obviously)

My total cost was 800 bucks. I found a rebuilt tranny with 3k miles and everything to go with it and a steeda tri ax shifter. Guy gave me a good deal. Doing the swap myself so im saving on labor fees.

Re: Auto to 5 speed swap

Hey you all should check out ampperformance.com
That's where I plan on going when money allows.
I found out about their transmission conversion kits from Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords Magazine. Click the link:

AMP Performance :: Transmission :: Ford :: Transmission Conversions and Swap Kits

The kits come with a used trans, but you can upgrade certain things depending on how much you want to spend.

OP, according to the August 2011 issue's ad:

02-04 AODE to used T-3650 swap $1950 includes clutch kit.
a)Rebuilt T-5 upgrade $450
b)New Tremec T-5 upgrade
c)New TKO500 ($1600) or TKO600 ($1700) upgrade
d)New Tremec Magnum T-56 upgrade $1000
e)New Tremec T-56 upgrade $2000
f)New Steel Bell upgrade $200 (extended fork needed)
g)New aluminum drive shaft upgrade $199
h)New Billet Shifter upgrade (Pro 5.0 or Steeda)
i)New aluminum quadrant/adjuster upgrade $50
j)New Kevlar clutch upgrade $150
k)New aluminum flywheel upgrade $149
l)New Billet steel flywheel upgrade $100

Re: Auto to 5 speed swap

Yeah you definitely got a great deal.
Personally, I've bought two used transmissions (both from parts cars). The first one randomly stopped working after 7,500 miles and the one I'm using now is already giving out...
That's why I've been looking into changing to a manual.
The cars I have owned and mainly driven have all been automatic, but I am beginning to despise them (automatics).

Anyways, I'd be very reluctant to buy a used transmission unless I were able to drive it before or if I knew for a fact that it had been rebuilt recently.
If someone felt the same way, they could buy a kit with a rebuilt or new trans, and everything they needed.

The ad also says "financing available (oac)" so if they didn't have cash on hand they might be able to work it out that way.

After all, the OP did ask if "they made a kit that comes with everything you need for the swap" so I was just trying to help.

Jamesgt08, stop posting on here and go do the swap! We're all anxious to see how it goes.

They are okay the integrated bellhousing sucks if the retainer sleeve is worn out then u need a whole new bellhousing Bc it's integrated and they are hard to find. I had to go to the dealer and they could only find 2 in the country, and it was 350$'s but the tko600/500 is a good trans for being a 5 speed they can take some abuse
