New tranny

Well I've decided that I'm gonna save for a new tranny and want some inputs on what to get. I was thinking a t56 from the cobras but I'd love some input

Re: New tranny

The T56 would be a good choice.
What are your plans for the car?

Im currently buying the parts to build the motor. Stock stroke .020 over bore comp cams xe274h and valve springs, p&p the stock heads for now, 75mm tb, 60 lbs injectors, kenne bell 2.1 or 2.6 (haven't decided yet), stage 3 clutch, billit fly wheel, 31 spline driveshaft, 31 spline eaton LSD, 31 spline moser axles. I know that the stock tranny can handle alot of power but there's always the random failures. I'm thinking of just buying an upgrade kit for it and strengthening it. I like the 5 speed a little more then 6. I know it should have roughly 720hp with the kenne bell 2.1 at 18 psi and I know of tons of people that have that much rwhp and it's still staying strong

That parts list is sounding good... I wish I had money to do that. I'd be happy with 400~450rwhp.

Yea it's alot of money. The car came with 3.90 gears, nitto drags, lowered and a short throw. So far I've bought a sct tuner, 90mm lightning maf, h&r race springs, and KGB adjustable rear shocks, and probe 22cc dish pistons and I'm in 1600 already. I had to rebuild the rear suspension cause it was lowered to far for the 315/35/17 and the pass side rear wheel well catches the tire and tears the edge up.
