Gears them. Tuner don't help us standard drivers . But I would go with 3.73. If it's your daily driver

They don't burn chips for 04.. That's pre 96 stuff. They will just flash your current PCM. But gears are gonna do more than a tune will by a long shot

Dude, yes they do !!! he's talking about me ...
I have a Diablo sport chip in my Mach 1 , had the car dyno tuned and a chip burned fopr it , and we got an increase of 24 RWHP !!!! But of coarse my boy Johnny Lightning did it and he's been known to know things that others don't , Great guy
he always gets my Mach running the best it can

Aftermarket PCM? Not really necessary being the factory PCM can run the car fine. Unless this diablo does something different???

the chip plugs into the service port on the factory PCM , and he changes all the parameters with his tune , basically he hacks the stock ECM , i watch him do it on the lap top ,its freakin' awesome ...........

Um... That's not burning a chip.... That's flashing the PCM.... I can do that with my lap top on gm vehicles with efi live... It's a custom tune is all it is

Re: Which mod?

YES BUT YOU NEED THE CHIP TO DO IT ,HE Burns all the info onto the chip , its not a flash , they flash the 05 and up ECM's just like on the GM's not 04 down ... believe me I know all about it ... this guy's one of my best friends , I grew up with him .. I'm not just a customer hanging out in his shop , he shows me what he does and how he does it ....

What he has is a vcm module. The vcm allows him to connect and tune on the fly. He isn't burning the vcm. The car runs off the vcm while he is tuning. Once he gets the tune where he likes it he flashes the PCM with it. Trust me. I do tuning too. 95 and down have chips that have to be burned.. 96 and up use a flashable PCM because the government mandated it. The chip you are seeing is just a vcm that allows the car PCM and the actual computer to communicate

Re: Which mod?

He plugs the chip into his laptop and tunes (burns it) takes it out then plugs it into the car ,we run in on the dyno . he takes the chip back out ,puts into his lap top ,changes more perameters we put it back in the car etc,etc till we got the best power ... he doesn't tune the car while its running
but anyway enough already ..... lol
