2002 GT Tune Up

Hi everybody,
I'm going to do a tune up on my 02 GT and want some advice:
1 changing the spark plugs and whether I should get a specific brand of plugs and simply tips on removing the fuel injection railings, releasing the fuel pressure, and so on.
Any help is appreciated.

I always just use OEM plugs. And make sure your engine is cold. And the fuel rails i just unscrewed them and popped them off the injectors and moved them.

Re: 2002 GT Tune Up

What about releasing the pressure built in the fuel line. I was told the pressure has to be released by turning off the fuel pump and leaving the engine running until the line runs out of gas and turns off by itself, then replacing the plugs the way you described keeping fuel from squirting out of the fuel railing.

That's what I was told too, because the fuel rails could dump fuel everywhere if not?

Its very minimal fuel. If you have the right length extensions and possibly a swivel you dont even need to remove fuel rails. If you do have to remove rail to access make sure you put some oil around orings for injectors so they dont tear when reinstalling
