Unhappy Problem with OBD Code P0455

My "service engine" light recently came on and the code given is P0455 which means I have an "evaporative system leak" somewhere between the canister and the engine. It is not the gas cap (incase you're wondering), but a leak somewhere in the line. A visual inspection showed nothing. I've read some posts posted by other people with the same problem (seems common on these Mustangs) Mine is a 2002 GT. However, no one have posted how they fixed the problem. I need a little help here. If any of you good'ol Mustang enthusiasts out there can help I really appreciate it.

Thanks.

Check lines for pin leaks or noises and make sure all clamps are snug. Had a similar issue was a unclamped house that expanded from heat allowing raw air in.

Re: Problem with OBD Code P0455

I'm gonna really need more help here. I did what I feel was a good visual inspection of the lines, canister, lines coming from the filler cap, replaced the filler cap, and still nothing. I'm gonna need everything you got.

Thanks again man.

Well if it was at my shop i would smoke it. I have a smoke producin machine that you hook up and it will show you the leak. On the 4.6 the only common leak i know of is the intake manifold gaskets. Also check up front at the egr area. There are several vac lines that are plastic and tend to break. Im sure you checked already

Re: Problem with OBD Code P0455

I will continue to inspect a little more closely. Maybe I should do it with the engine running.

Thanks much.
