How hard is a motor swap?

Hey guys and gals, I have a buddy of mine who is a mechanic and he has a Mach 1 motor that needs some work but said he would sell it to me as is for 600 bucks. Its not completely blown by any means he said it just needs some tweaking and he can work a hell of a deal. I trust him so I know he's not bs'n about tryin to sell me a shatty motor. but I have also been wanting to put money in my car... so the next thing is would it be easier to have this 4V motor, put the money into it, then just drop it in when everything is said and done?

advice needed and welcomed thanks!!!

It should just drop right into ur car. Everything is pretty much the same. The heads are different. And the shaker you will need a mach hood. It shouldnt be that hard at all.

Re: How hard is a motor swap?

It is a deal and should be that hard. You need t o look to make sure the wiring harness is the same as well as the ECU. You may need a new harness and a new ECU. Also make sure motor mounts are the same. As well as no issues mating engine and tranny.
