speedo correction

So I've got an 04 Mach 1 and the previous owner has put 4:10 gears in it. Never corrected the speedometer. Is a tuner my only option? Thanks in advance

Nope. A electronic speedo recal is made. I ordered mine through cj pony parts. I think they get it from texas mustangs. Be careful though. The way it re-calibrates you speedo is through a binary code that the computer reads. When I purchased mine, the binary code that came with it was wrong. I ended up taking my car to cj pony parts and they called Texas mustangs to get the correct code and then reinstalled it for free.

Re: speedo correction

Did you ever do this ? Can someone on this thread point me to a part that I can purchase to correct for my 2000 GT's 3.73:1 gearing?

Re: speedo correction

drive beside somebody with an accurate speedo and then have them tell you how fast you're going and see how far you're off

Re: speedo correction

I usually do a mental correction for it. It sucks though.

Its a binary code made up of 1s and 0s. Different gear selections have different codes to enter
