Rack needs replacing

So I started to notice a slight power steering fluid leak and was hoping it was just a seal or a popped line but when I got under my girl I noticed if I bottom out my steering to the right fluid just pours out the rack
So it's time to replace the rack
Guys at the shop wanted like 755$ to replace it themselves I loled and drove off
I'll do it myself and keep my 600$ in labor anyone got any suggestions on a slightly upgraded rack?
I was looking at these
http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/de...QQA122238.html

But I don't know much about what males one rack better than another

Any info would be much appreciated

So I've done some research and everything has told me I should get an upgraded steering rack but does anyone know a good brand or place to shop for steering racks?
Not a ton of info out there I know how to do the swap just need to find a solid rack .......(fighting so many urges to make dirty jokes)

Re: Rack needs replacing

Why should you get an "upgraded" steering rack?

Are you on a road course 90% of the time? A drag strip 90% of the time?

There is no reason to waste money on an aftermarket rack. Go to your local stealership, ask for the rack, recieve, install, and win.

...after clicking your link...you do realize that is simply a remanufactured oem steering rack right?

I had spoken to several mechanics around town and they all seemed to be under the impression that the stock racks from ford were kinda crappy
I was told to get one from ford racing (which I couldn't find) but no I am not on the track all the time so if the stealership one will work it's the stealership one I'll get
Thank you for the input I really needed some advice

Ok so I got my new rack and pinion from oreily auto parts about 230$ plus core charge but I get that back so who cares
Put it in myself with my cousin and a 12 pack of highlife
No real issues it went surprisingly well it seems to work just fine and has a lifetime warranty
still have some tinkering to do in the morning to get the alignment just perfect but I couldn't be happier
Saved myself about 500$ in labor and it made for a fun day
If anyone needs help doing this same thing I will be glad to offer my experience in any way I can
