Running Rough.

I noticed lately that my '02 GT is running a bit rough at idle. When I get moving or rev the engine up past 1k it stays pretty smooth, but at idle is shakes a lot.

Any ideas? It's not making any weird noises or anything.

Re: Running Rough.

i would check your egr valve first, could be a vacuum issue, that seems to be quite easy to notice at idle levels, otherwise i have had it like that off watered down gas before too

Sounds like a misfire. Once revved up you wont notice a misfire on a v8

Re: Running Rough.

it doesnt overheat or anything does it? maybe check the air filters and cabin filter, check coolant level. or even see if the a/c pump clutch pulley is good.

It doesn't shake terribly. My passengers can't feel it. I'm just aware of it since I'm driving it so often. And the exhaust sounds like it hiccups out of the driver side pipe every second.

I have no idea. It's been idling rough for probably four days. So perhaps that long. I have the CAI that is routed out of te engine bay into the fender.. So I'd imagine someone could steal it.

Re: Running Rough.

idk it almost sounds like when its cold a exhaust valve aint seating right and once it gets up to temp the valve expands and fills up the gap that it didnt have when it was cold, or it could be something small like a bad sensor

I'll have to recheck the sensors.

that would be the easiest route lol hopefully it is a sensor, like i said idk 100 percent on the valves but it sounds like it could be a symptom, another thing is before when i asked if it only did it when it was wet or dewy outside because once i had a car that ran rough on dewy cold start ups and it was because moisture was getting under a loose distributor cap and making it misfire intill under the cap dried out from the heat.
