Can you put Cobra heads on a GT Mustang?

I have a 99 Gt and Im going to have to have head work done because I messed up some valves. I ran accross some 99-04 Mustang Cobra heads for a decent price, they are in great shape and come with the cams.

My question is. What would I have to do to make the Cobra heads work with my GT engine? If its even possible.

Thanks for any imput guys

Bullitt intake wont work. You can use mach or cobra intakes. Timing cover will have to be from a 4v as well along with the chains guides and tensioners

It's easier to just buy a 96-98 cobra engine....but If you buy these years engine adjust the timing on it you can instantly get 15hp if you do. Or just find a Mach 1 motor or 99-2000 cobra motor any cobra motor past those years will bankrupt you.

If you look on the drivers side head near the exhaust you can see a sticker with the date of mfg on it. If it doesnt match your year that could be true. Also look at the gaskets around the vehicle. If they are blue they could be felpro replacements and not factory. It will be hard to know for sure

Re: Can you put Cobra heads on a GT Mustang?

if you have the money to spend on 4v heads ,it would be cheaper to buy some after market 2 valve heads , Trick Flow makes good ones ,simple swap
