Possible New Stang! Thoughts??

I'm looking at selling my 98 GT and picking up this 99 GT/ Cobra clone. Its a GT with Headers, programmer, dual exhaust, and no cats. Thought I'd let yall have a look-see. (Btw, Of I pick this up, I will must likely be putting a Saleen Style spoiler on it. I'm not a fan of not having a spoiler.)

If you do, please take off the cobra emblems. It takes away from people who payed more to have the cobra status lol... Are those 05-09 v6 wheels on it too?

Yea... I want to put the GT emblems back on it... I would rather have a bad*** GT, than a fake Cobra. And no, they are the Mach 1 rims..

I'm really diggin' the hood. The accent stripe really makes it pop! If it's mechanically sound then I like it.

So just this car is a big step for me. Haha. And also, like everyone else, I love that hood on it. lol.

Re: Possible New Stang! Thoughts??

I like it GT's are a good starter Stang. Oh the wheels arent Mach 1's. Buy it if it drives and sounds mechanically good. Put some FR500 silver wheels on it with 10.5" deep dish rear wheels, it would look like a monster then. How many miles are on the car?

They look a lot like new-style GT rims.

I'm almost sure they are v6 rims... New gt rims are 19 inches and have curved spokes. Those are straight spokes and loom exactly like my wheels...(16")

The wingless trunk is worth some money. Either trade someone with a wing or sell it and buy something with a wing on it already and you will come out ahead. Alot of people are going wingless these days. It grows on you. My firs stang was wingless and i wanted to buy a roush wing but couldnt afford it. Wingless grew on me and now every stang ive owned thats 99-04 has been wingless. Some people like myself wont fill in holes so we buy wingless trunk lids.

Haha. I can't go wingless.. Its just not me.. But these people with this car aren't being very lenient.. But I have another one I am going to look at hopefully today or tomorrow. It is a 2004 GT with the Bullit package. It does not have as many extras, but it would give me and my father something to work on. So we'll see. I'll try to keep yall posted.

Re: Possible New Stang! Thoughts??

This is one confused Mustang.... I would take all the badges off! Put the 03-04 Cobra front and rear bumpers on it. Put a Cobra spoiler on it. Keep the hood, Love it! Now one would ever know what it is and it would be a mystery Mustang! other wise just buy a Mach 1 like SpectorV said. Of pony up the money and get a Terminator! What is your budget anyway?

That's why you get rid of the badges. Just have the bumpers doesn't mean he would be trying to be a cobra, it just looks better. a member on this forum Hihosilver did a rear bumber on his GT and it looks great! He even filled in the "Cobra" on it! Very nice job check this link out! Painting Terminator Rear Bumper

I'll try to get pics up of the other one as soon as he will let me look at the car... He isn't being very responsive. And my budget is def pretty tight right now. The most I'll be able to get most likely is a newer base model GT (1999-04). I'm at around $6500.. I know that isn't much.. But its all I've got.. So maybe I can find something.. Who knows.. But I have to sell my GT to get a new one. And thanks to a small fender bender, and screwed insurance claim, it has a reconstructed title.. And people COMPLETELY trip out when they hear that.. So I'm not having much luck..
