Had the same problem with my car, wouldn't accelerate passed 40. Turned out a couple wires shorted out. Changed them out and the car ran great.

Sounds like the wires may be grounding out if it's missing, or you don't have a good connection.

Oh real easy way to check for grounding wires is to go to a dark spot at night and crank the car. Look under the hood and if it looks like "Christmas lights" then your wires are bad. You may have to rev the motor to be able to see them arching out if they are bad.

If the car is an 02 gt then there are no wires. They are coil on plug ---------- Post added at 01:41 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:37 PM ---------- Check the fuel pressure. Ive seen many times a fuel pump do this. Make sure you are getting correct voltage to the pump as well. Ive seen where the relay goes in and out and wont create efficient fuel pressure. Our cars have the relay in the ccrm which is a common failure as well as the fuel pump driver module which isnt as common to fail. You always want to chamge the fuel filter every so often. If not it can cause premature pump failure

That usually happens when it drips down under the intake and sits in the valley. You need to find where the leak is. White crusty residue will point it out. Pull the coils out and see if there is coolant or the crusty stuff.
