Painting a hood decal?

I have a 98 mustang gt spring edition and I can't find a replacement hood decal anywhere. If I bought black paint could I just paint the decal and it would look fine?

There was a special spring edition in 98 that came with a decal on the hood and the rims in my picture it was a package. And the decal is faded bad. Google 98 mustang spring edition I would upload a pic but I'm no where near my car ATM and I'm on my phone.

Yes, it would look just fine and likely last longer than a decal.
I did a pretty thorough search and did not find those decals anywhere, so painting them on may be your only option unless you would want to pay to have them custom made.

Check here- Graphic Express -to see if they can make you a custom set.

Here- Spring Edition -are some pictures of the decals on the car.

Good Luck!

Re: Painting a hood decal?

lol I am saying just paint the actual decal like on it, temporarily because when I get my car repainted I'm gonna get it put on there then

hmm you could have a shop paint it on the hood but I would make sure its 100% accurate~

keep searching someone has to have one some where. You could probably have a shop custom cut one for you~ but you would have to have a template they can use.

Agreed.
That is why I posted the link to Graphic Express.
They are licensed by Ford to reproduce Ford graphics, so they should be able to get a template easier than places that are not licensed.
