Lowering the 04 stang

Hey guys I have an 04 mustang gt and plan on putting lowering springs on it with control arms and struts and wondering if they will fit even though I have 18in rims on them the springs plan on lowering them 1.9 in the front and 2.1 in the rear

Re: Lowering the 04 stang

if the rims are a standard ford mustang offset/fit then they will be fine. I am 26.5 ground/fender in rear and 26.0 front with a much more flush offset than most and I am fine.

on a side note... 2 inches will be low enough to start causing you issues driving FYI and you WILL need caster/camber plates. If your frontspacing on your rear rims is more than 3.75 inches (width - backspacing = frontspacing) the fender lips may rub the tires and cut them~

Ok and Have one more question for you guys. I recently had vandalism done to my car where some brats threw rocks at my car and my front bumper and rear bumper took the most damage and plan on replacing them with a 03 cobra front bumper but of coarse keep the mustang symbols cause it isn't a cobra and just wanted to kno if that front bumper fits on there...

Re: Lowering the 04 stang

rear bumper fits with no issues, but fill in the COBRA lettering (a good shop can do this) as its not a cobra and plus it looks good without letters (looks clean)

for the front... the bumper WILL work but if you just install it using all factory mounts (the issue is the two mounts between the headlights) those are taller and will rub on your factory hood.

You can pull them back a bit to clear and drill a new mount hole or you can get an 03/04 cobra hood~ just FYI other than that it all works

The fog lights for 03/04 cobras have different plug sizes FYI you can get them cheap, heck I have a spare set somewhere if anyone wants them.

I doubt I could even track them down now

its just the wiring harness with the plug, you have to cut the stock fog light wires and splice the ends on~ if you have no fog light wires then you will have to buy the entire kit and they may offer one for 03/04 cobras anyway~

contact tousleyfordparts.com give them a call and they can get you a great price on OEM ford stuff like fogs and bezels and such. For wiring harness not sure, some sell kits but I dont know the price.

Be prepared to either pay alot to have them done or have a full day of work to do them. I have them on my car and honestly they arent worth the cost or trouble. Unless you are going to make a ton of power with a power adder you really wont notice anything. For the money spent on headers you can get something that makes you more power

If ur stock with jus exhaust pretty much, if u have more air forcing through those pipes definetly, longtubes with cams definetly worth it and other things u do with the car, if u plan on doing things more to the car, ur jus getting a big part of it done now. I have shorty headers with a built motor cams, i definetly wish i had longtubes.

I just did a long tube install this weekend and to be completely honest, it was worth it. It took all weekend but it was a fun install. If you do it drop the k member!! You won't feel a huge difference with just headers but the sound is worth it all!!
