pi swap worth it?

I have a 96 mustang gt with bbk cold air intake, bbk long tubes, bbk h-pipe, single chamber flowmasters and 4.10 gears i just recently bought a 4.6 engine for $400 and i got pi heads cam intake and timing cover with it. I want to put the heads cams intake and timing cover on my car and build the other engine, I was just wondering around how much hp i would gain and if it would be noticable while driving i also got 21lbs injectors with the engine that i was gonna install also.

Re: pi swap worth it?

i did a pi swap on my friends 97 vert, we used comp cams 262 as well and i gotta tell yea, it's a good improvement. car runs really good. now we are trying to locate a bullitt manifold or trick flow and put on his longtubes. anyways, he ran 15 flat at the 1/4 mile stock on street tires, since the pi swap and cams alone he ran 14.1..

Re: pi swap worth it?

dyno'd the 97 stock before the swap, it was 205hp or 215, can't remember. now has 287hp, that's with full pi swap w/262 cams, 78mm tb, and cai.. no tune and no other mods.

Re: pi swap worth it?

you can find cams on forums for good price, or craigslist. that's how we got them.

The next thing I would get is a hand held tuner to make the most of your mods. That's if you don't have one yet of course.
