Re: Engine trouble

Sounds like a spark plug or coil boot problem. Does it seem to do it when it is under load? How long has it been since the plugs were changed.

Re: Engine trouble

My 2000 GT needs fuel injector cleaner every springtime -- usually sits a lot over the winter and acts quite like you're describing here. It might also be a damaged fuel pump (if you drive the car a lot with a bad filter this can happen). I'm not an expert on how to check for this though -- my guess is that you need something to test the fuel pressure somehow.

Just take the car to a local mechanic have him find out what the problem is and fix or replace whatever you need to yourself... A mechanic here in LA charged me $20 hooking up my car to his code reader then taking it apart a little finding out what caused the problem... Which was a cracked intake manifold flooding the cylinder and causing a misfire.

Oh and yes it does it under load but not all the time. Sometimes it sounds Like a paintball gun running out of co2. Lol. That's the best way to discribe it.

That's as much as the dealership would charge here in California

Hey sounds to me like you need to get the whole thing tuned properly, the stock tuning wont work properly with the TB/plenum and other mods your running. That and replace your O2 sensors.

Well I have it tuned. But y would I replace the u2 sensors. Plus fence I went up to 93 octane. Would it mess up my spark plugs. Cuz wen I looked at them they had grey on them.

So 87 octane. Cuz we have I think 87. 89. 91. And 93 pump gas.

There is nothing wrong with running different gas and the higher octane the better. I'd run what your cars tuned for though.
