Pulley squeal

Replaced my serpentine belt and I'm still getting a squeal. It only does it on my AC pulley and only when its actually engaged. Any idea or just deal with it? lol.

Probably because it's brand new & "squeaky clean".

Take sand paper to all the smooth pullies while the car is running. Sand them smooth. Rubber will build up on them and cause a squeek. Most likely your problem is your tensioner. When the ac is on it puts more stress on the belt and the tensioner probably cant keep up anymore

I had the same problem on my '03 Gt, the idler/tensioner pulley would squeal real bad, especially with the A/C engaged. Went to the local pep boys an bought a new idler pulley for around $17. Took about 5 mins to put it on and no more squealing. You might just be better off replacing it but my stangs at 73K miles, the bearings were seazed and the seal was cracked

Haha I work at pep boys as a mechanic, they are pretty reasonable, thought I would throw that out there.

Darn...same here as well. Glad other people are feeling my pain. So then I might as well change the tensioner and the belt at once. And sand down the smooth pulleys?

I thing it is u idle pulley, went the bearing gone bad made Thad kind of noise. Take the belt out turn the idle with u hand if the run really fast it is time to changed or put some grease on the bearing, but I recommend change the pulley.
