Anyone forced induction needs to run premium. Unfortunately you can't afford detonation. On a naturally aspirated car they can have detonation and still be ok.... For you if your engine detonates from a lower octane you could blow a hole in you block or piston.... Obviously that's worst case scenario!

It's a good idea..... Usually they advance the timing so it requires a little more octane.
