Battery

Ok so long story short!.. Last night I was heading off to work when I tried to start my car!... Nothing!.. Dead battery!.. Later after work I go and get a new one and wow!.. Maybe it is just me but, the new battery feels like it really woke up my car!..

My question is!.. Has any one else ever experienced that with just a simple new battery?.. I have owned other cars and replaced batteries before!.. But never had such a positive response like this before!.. Other question is that are these cars then that responsive to minor changes in the electrical system?...

Elaborate on "woke up"?
Is it cranking stronger, lights brighter or are you saying that the engine seems to be my responsive?

A little bit of all the above!.. Lol. It's a 2004 GT and I've had it sense '07 and never replaced the battery until now!.. Two years ago I did replace the alternator!..

It could be because your alternator was working harder to keep recharging your old weak battery. It was more stress/load on your alternator so yes, I believe a new battery would free up some power being that your alternator doesn't have to work as hard to keep the new battery charged. You might want to get your alternator tested, just to be sure it didn't get over worked when you had that old battery.

Ya that's what I was kinda thinking!.. I do believe it was the original battery!.. Lol. But the funny thing is that as far as the "cranking" is concerned, that has always been the same sense I had the car!.. Lol. But ya I'll probably have my dad check the alternator for me as a just in case!.. He has all the right meters to do that!..

On a side note!.. I used to have a '96 Monte-Carlo Z34, and those were notorious for killing alternators and batteries!.. And even with that I've never experienced such a positive with just a battery change!.. But like I said before it might just be me!... Lol

Lol, yeah. I love replacing my starter when it goes out. The new starters always have a crisp sharp sound and it makes me feel all giddy like a school girl! Lmao!

Batteries make all the worlds difference.. I learned this with motorcycles. If they aren't fully charged or have bad cells they can make a motor run like ***! If you noticed a big difference with a new one it likely yours has been dying for some time now.
