Re: Best SC

it truly depends on your budget. for a stock motor any supercharger will have the capabilities of pushing your block to its limits. different people will tell you different things. Kenne Bell is expensive and gives more low end torque. However since you didnt mention any suspension upgrades that may be bad because you may not hook up well. I would go with a vortech v1 s-trim. It is a solid blower that will give you very nice gains on lower boost and has the ablility to push out over 12 psi (which is more than enough to leave your current motor in tiny pieces). Any centrifugal charger (vortech, paxton, etc) would be good though. just research effeciency and other ratings and reviews and find the one that best meets your expectations.

Twin screws work great on our cars. I would just suggest a centrifugal style charger. The build boost as rpms go up so it's a little easier to get traction and they pull harder on the top end than a kenne bell or whipple

A whipple is a twin screw charger. They all sound about the same. When it comes to sound though a centrifugal will whistle and whine at idle more than a KB or Whipple. Go on youtube and watch videos. You will be able to hear the KB/Whipple whine when they hit the gas. The centrifugal (i.e. procharger, vortech, paxton) will whistle at idle and then sound like a jet engine when you really crank them up.

What he said. I have a friend with a Whippled GT500 he got heatsoak after half a lap at the local roadcourse. He had to drop almost 2k to get a Snow Performance meth injection kit and and upgraded heat exchanger. Centrifugals with give you very good power for the money.

Here are pics of a Paxton and a Kenne bell. I really want the KB, but I will probably end up getting the Paxton.
