SLP long tube headers, worth the money?

Im thinking about purchasing the SLP long tube headers for my 98 Mustang GT. It already have the SLP Catted X and SLP Loudmouth 1 cat-back, for the cost of the headers is it worth it for HP gains and any sound differences, versus leaving the stock manifolds on. Thanks you.

From what I gathered reading threads here. The HP gains are better and as well as the tone. But the down side is the installation. It's much more difficult to install long tubes vs. shorties. I plan to go with long tube headers myself. I love a challenge.

@primer, I heard the same thing about the installation being a nightmare, the up side is that my uncle is a mechanic for a Ford dealership and I have access to a lift to help with the install. Thanks.

@mach1, I researched a little on the SLP headers mating with my SLP catted-x pipe and all I have to do is remove the left and right top pipes that runs from my manifolds to my cats and it should install with no problem to the X-pipe. Right now with just the SLP X-pipe and the SLP cat-back LM1 exhaust I haved more compliments on how mean my car sounds. Thanks.

In that case, I'd go for it! A lift makes a world of difference! :Headbang:

I had SLP headers on my old Camaro. The quality was top notch. I have no qualms recommending them.

Slp is a good brand. A buddy of mine has an slp off road x and slp catback on his Mach and it sounds heavenly. I prefer grumble so I run a bbk off road h with bbk LT headers.
