How much money are you planning on spending? That's the biggest question.

Engine: K&N cold air intake, Bassani offroad x, Magnaflow catback, Bama 91 octane race tune, 3.55 gears dyno'd at 233whp 272wtq before exhaust
Suspension: IRS swap with stock cut 03 Cobra springs
Brakes: Front and rear brakes from an 03 Cobra with EBC Yellowstuff pads
Look on Mrbodykits.com for the kit. It'll take a couple grand to do it. Rims and tires are a must for a show car, then there's a body kit with Thea paint job, that'll be a couple k more. Stance, engine clean dress up, interior. It'll be less than 10k for sure. Just depends on how much you want to do

Street racing is a horrible idea. It's dangerous and if you get caught then you're gonna be sorry. Take it to a road course if you want twisties
I no its bad but the only track is like 100miles away it's to far and gas is 3.89 here

Me and my dad can paint the body kit and we get paint for a sellers discount sense my dad is a classic car builder

lol you think 100 miles is far? that's what...an hour in a half on the interstate. i drive that to go race if i want a 1/4 mile (beech bend for people that know nmra racing)...just know that at your age a street racing conviction will have you sorry for a good while. i'm surprised your dad is into it...sounds like he needs a swift kick lol
but back to your thread...if you're wanting drag racing then the suspension you'd want for that won't be the lowering you probly want for a car show...you want weight transfer while at the track
edit: i beg you not to ruin your car with that body kit...i know your 16 but come on....
He made a custom console and put push button start in it got dakota digital gauges and vintage air he put power windows a new hood don't have pic sorry but he is planing on adding more and paint

That'll be a gorgeous car when he's done with it

i was 17 my first time on a track...it was an 1/8th mile...being able to watch the groups in front of me and how the staged was great.....being able to ask others about how to launch and when to do certain things made the experience...
What would he say if you told him lets take it to the track? Just out of curiosity
Hell you want me to bet you there lol

you'd have more balls by telling your dad to take it to a track where a slip doesn't lie
Ya we have a laundry mat to and like everyone that comes though is like o what kinda cars u building and they come look we just finished a 46 Chevy pickup all original painted candy red but back to the topic so if I was to race it what would be the best set ups
Listen to these guys here. Don't ruin the sleek curves of the 98 with a body kit. It's going to be hard to maintain a drag car and a show car. The drag car actually doesn't need to be lowered, where the show car does need to be. If you chose to do a auto-x/show car, that setup is much better(that's how I'm set up). I've got show awards and also beat forced induction cars on the track.

god a mach lip would look good on that car in your sig

I've thought about it, but i would have to replace it after every drive. I scrape if the pavement is raised an inch and a half. Since the sig pic i've lowered the car another inch. I just put updated pics in my garage.
Please......no street racing talk or we will be forced to close this thread.
Thanks guys.

we're trying to tell him not to do it...don't you think that's better then not speaking about it at all, and OP doing it anyways?

It is good that you are telling him not to do it but we still have to clean it up.

and by clean it up could you elaborate? i've already been called out by one of the staff here for being "harsh" when at best i was being brutaly honest...I'd like to stop stepping on toes here while trying to be helpful with threads like this
Cleaning it up meaning deleting all the posts with and street racing content. If you would like to discuss it more please take it to a PM.

Since is the correct spelling of the word you are using here.
But for real, you need to figure out what you want to do with your car. I personally am not going to build mine for show or race. I just want to build a nice looking car that doesn't get stomped by cars like the SRT-4 (has not happened yet but I know it can be done). I am going to get the Stalker body kit (with the work stalker removed!!), the GTS-III hood, black chrome God Speed Omega III rims wrapped in nittos, going to smoke the stock lights, style bar, and speedo covers.
I will either do a 4v cobra swap or have a nice modular engine built by mmr, or I may buy parts up little by little to rebuild my motor and bring the power out of it. It all boils down to $ and time.
Included are some pictures of the stuff I am talking about.
