My rear gears...

So.. I did the ole mark the drive shaft turn the wheel one rotation thing. I came up with 3 and 3/4 turns. So it seems to me that I have 3.73 gears. Now my traction control light is always on and both my wheel are pulling full time witch leads me to believe I have a locker in my rear end correct me if I'm wrong? The guy I bought the car from pretty much didn't know crap about it or cars in general. So I'm slowly figuring out everything this car actually has in it. With all that begin said my question is for the guys with 3.73 gears I just want to know what rpm's your turning at 60mph and 70mph. I turn 2k at 60mph and roughly 2300ish at 70mph.

If your traction control light is on there is a problem with it. It's purpose is to prevent the tires from spinning. Mustangs with an 8.8 come with a traction loc from the factory.

Sorry should of made myself clear. I meant the light on the button not in the dash. The light is always on, on the button I can't turn it off. I'm not bothered by it I thought the 8.8 came with limited slip. Thats why I figured I had a locker.

Not sure about the gear got a 4:10 locker with frpp carbon clutch packs but likely if the trac button is always lit it usually means it has been custom tuned and completely shut off in the ecu. I have and Sct 4 position tune switch in my 04 and depending on what tune I'm using the trac will be off. When my wife drives the car I put the car back to normal with trac on and the rev limiters set at 5k haha!!

Pull the passenger side kick panel and pull the ecu out if the holder and take a look at the door on the end see if it has anything plugged into it or see if it's been tampered with

If your diff still had the tag on it, it will say right in the tag what gears you have! Mine says 3L27 which is a locking 3.27

Umm not sure what to say about that lol. I counted 3 3/4 turns twice. As far as I know it seems that I have 3.73 but 4.10's would be nice to have with this gas milage lol.

I get roughly 21mpg hwy and 17ish city. Driving conservatively, of course.
